Hero Ingredients in This Product
This is how Barkin & Meowson's products impeccable results.
Coconut Oil
One of the few oils small enough to penetrate the hair shaft, not just coat it. Reinforces the strand from the inside for less breakage and more shine — while also acting as a soothing occlusive layer for dry skin. INCI name: Cocos nucifera (Coconut) oil
Oat Extract
One of the most soothing plant ingredients in dermatology for humans and pets. Calms itching, reduces redness, and forms a light protective layer over sensitive skin. Especially powerful for reactive, allergy-prone coats. INCI name: Avena strigosa / Avena sativa seed extract
Panthenol (Vitamin B5)
Provitamin B5 penetrates deep into the coat shaft to hydrate from within, while soothing sensitive skin on the surface. The reason your pet's coat feels soft — and their skin feels calm — after every wash. INCI name: Panthenol
Hyaluronic Acid
The classic hydrating molecule— but in a four-weight system, so it hydrates at every layer of the skin. Locks in moisture, plumps the coat from the root, and helps a comb glide through tangles without pulling. INCI name: Sodium hyaluronate (4-molecular-weight system)

I have now used several products from the Barkin and Meowson range on my two lovely dogs. The most recent product I have used is this Volume Boost spray. The product comes in a 350 mls spray bottle. It contains vegan collagen and is pH balanced as well as being paraben and sulphate free. The spray is operated via a white button which clicks and switches the spray on and off.The strength of fragrance is more pronounced than in other products I have used from the same range. I think this is due to the fact that it can be used in-between bathing, so the stronger fragrance may be there to mask any doggy odours which would normally be eliminated by a bath/shampoo. It’s not an unpleasant smell, but I do prefer the lighter fragrance of the other products. It didn’t really smell of coconut oil to me. As with the other products in the range it is pH balanced, sulphate and paraben free.I have tried it on my dogs, and although it left their coat feeling silky and perfumed, I didn’t really notice any difference in the volume. I would have liked to use it on their spaniel ears, but it says to avoid using on the ear area, so I haven’t risked it. The spray comes out well with a fine mist.To date this is the only product in this entire range that I have not been 100% happy with regarding its effectiveness, and it is so far the only one I wouldn’t re-order. In fact, since using it my dog is on the sofa next to me, and I am starting to find the fragrance irritating, but in saying that, I am sensitive to certain smells.
This has become my go-to when I want to freshen up my dog without a full bath. I've got little chihuahuas who are prone to knots and tangles, and spraying a bit of this on before brushing makes a real difference - the comb just glides through much easier. The scent is nice and not overpowering, which seems to be the case with all the Barkin & Meowson products I've tried. Leaves their coats looking fluffier and feeling soft. Really handy to have around.
My dog has curly Black and White hair, and keeping a curly coat matt free in between regular grooming is always a challenge. When I spray him with the “Volume Boost Spray” the brush is so much easier, brushing through the curls. The smell is gorgeous, he smells really good, and the smell is longer lasting. His coat is softer, fluffier, and his curls more defined.I love the Barkin & Meowson range, Vet recommended, and paraben and sulphate free.I am happy using this on my dog.
My dog has a very thin single coat so I ordered this Volume Boost Spray to see if it would give it more body. If you look at the photos you can see the difference - top of her back has the spray on ( taken after it had dried) and bottom of her back has not - her whole coat is like the lower back you can see.. There her coat where I spray this is definitely thicker. So now have used it all over her coat and it makes it look so much better plus it is trapping air better so she is warmer so not so much need for jumpers/coats on cold dry days which she is happy about as she really does feel the cold but not a clothes fan. Spray smells nice yet not overpowering scent and no irritation on my dogs skin and she is not bothered about it. As she has such short hair I cannot say how well it helps with brushing a longer haired coat I am afraid.
Used this a couple of times now and honestly not seen any real different in my shihtzus fur with regards to volume? The fragrance is stunning so I like to use this to give a nice subdued light fragrance to my pooch but apart from giving a nice shine to her fur no volume has been added although I have exactly given her a bouncy blow?
We have two little dogs, a mid brown Chorkie and a white Morkie. Our little Morkie has very fine, quite sparse hair which rarely looks glossy but instead, rather dry at the ends, especially on her body. They both hate grooming of any sort but particularly baths. I thought this was worth a try. I did our Morkie first. I sprayed it all over her body, massaged it in and finally brushed her. She didn’t object to this at all and in fact seemed to quite enjoy it. I couldn’t see much difference the first time I’ve used but now I’ve used it several times I can definitely see a difference in her coat. The ends of her hair aren’t so dry so her coat lays flat more smoothly and this makes a big difference to the overall look. I tried it on our Chorkie, more from the point of getting him to accept grooming a little bit more. He wasn’t so keen on the spraying or the massaging in but as he already has a thick glossy coat I wasn’t expecting a big change! An added bonus is the gorgeous smell of it, without any irritation to their skin. I’d recommend it without hesitation.
I am a big big fan of Barkin and Meowson as a brand, they make high quality, vet approved premium products, made with gorgeous ingredientsand this is no different. I used this on my shih tzu, she is usually afraid of sprays, but this is quite a gentle spray that spreads well rather than a jet of liquid. With a couple of sprays on her back I was able to spend a good ten minutes massaging and rubbing this into her fur.I was able to use the time to makie funky hairstyles with her fur whilst it was damp and being rubbed in, but I honestly can't say whether it was a volume boost as I am not sure what volumised fur looks like! What I can say is that this spray smells really lovely, although I have to say my personal preference would be to spray this on a boy dog as it felt a little more masculine with the mushy hints of the scent. Three days after using it she still has wafts of it when she's having a cuddle, and it stayed on my hands all day. This isn't the cheapest brand, but a little goes a very long way which makes it great value for money overall, and you really do get what you pay for with this spray as it is well made, well packaged and smells lovely.
I’ve been using the Barkin & Meowson Volume Boost Spray on my dog and cat, and I’m so impressed! The spray adds noticeable volume and softness to their coats without making it greasy or sticky. It’s easy to apply, smells pleasant, and my pets don’t mind it at all. I’ve noticed their fur looks shinier and more bouncy after just a few uses. Definitely a great grooming product for anyone wanting to keep their pets’ fur looking full, healthy, and touchable.
Love Barkin & Meowson products as used quite a few of them now on our pups and always find them brilliant quality and very effective whilst being safe and easy to use. This is a lovely booster spray for any. hair length. which gives their coat a really good spruce up and leaves them feeling lovely and soft with a nice shine too, as well as well as smelling great and smelling clean. Nice and safe and easy to use and good value for the brand so would fully recommend and happily get again.
I have ordered a few products from this brand and really like them and this is no exception. Our girl loves to roll in the puddles and mud at this time of year, but there’s a limit to how often we want to shower and bathe her. So using a product like this really helps keep her fresh and smelling lovely and it does a great job once you brush it out to leave her looking and smelling amazing. I appreciate the vegan ingredients here although I don’t think our girl particularly cares! It has a decent 350 mL bottle that should last us for some time. Another excellent product that I wouldn’t hesitate to buy more of in the future.
I wasn't expecting this to work, I tried it on my German shepherd and yes it does leave her fur smoother and fluffier which is kind of cute. In my test, it is not super fluffy but surely soft and fluffy enough that I'll keep using it for my dog. A bit pricey though.
Absolutely love this spray which really does give a boost to dogs fur. Easy to spray on and simply give your pet a brush down, this spray leaves coat looking glossy and fluffy. Has a nice subtle scent which is not too overpowering. I'd recommend this
Brilliant for grooming, especially on dogs with dry or fluffy coats. Our older collie has had itchy, dry skin since the heating’s come on, and this spray has really helped loosen up the extra fluff during brushing. Smells really nice and fresh and hasn’t irritated his skin at all. You just spray and brush as normal - no rinsing required.Leaves the coat looking shinier and feeling softer. Definitely a nice product to have in your grooming routine.
