First of all I love the pump dispenser. If you have a medium or large dog who isn't exactly a fan of bath time, you know the struggle. The scent it’s very fresh and lemony, and leave my dog's coat clean, incredibly soft and shine.I like very much this shampoo because is very gentle on skin and it cut right through the dirt in his thick double coat without needing half the bottle.I recommend 100%.Arrived very well packaged, no leaking.
Barkin & Meowson MedExpert Flea & Tick Shampoo. This is another gorgeous pet care product from Barkin & Meowson. The shampoo contains natural ingredients and it has a citronella smell. This should ward off fleas and ticks although it won't actually kill them if your dog's infested. The pump action bottle makes dispensing easier especially whilst you're stopping your mutt from escaping the bath tub.
I’ve been using this shampoo on my dog and I’m really pleased with it so far. The citrus scent is lovely and quite strong, which I’m hoping will help keep the fleas away. I’ve tried so many things in the past - tablets, powders, pipettes - and nothing made much difference, so I decided to add this shampoo alongside his prescribed flea treatment . It foams well, and his fur came out incredibly soft. I even spotted a few fleas washed out into the bath afterwards, which was very reassuring. I also comb him daily. This product is paraben‑free, easy to use and smells great. It’s worth every penny in my opinion. My cat is very sensitive to essential oils and strong scents, so I haven’t used it on her, but for my dog it’s been a great choice. I highly recommend it.
We used this shampoo for our dash hunt who has skin conditions on his underbelly. The shampoo is easy to use and lathers well without being harsh. The smell is mild and fresh and not too strong. It rinses out easily and leaves the coat clean and soft. We like that it is pH balanced and does not contain harsh ingredients, which gave us confidence to use it regularly. After about a week of use, we noticed some good signs on his underbelly. The skin looks calmer and he seems less uncomfortable than before. It also helped keep insects away during walks, which is a plus. While it may not be a complete solution on its own, it works well as part of our regular grooming routine. Overall, it is a good quality shampoo and we are happy with the results so far.
This is a fab brand which we have used quite a bit jn recently weeks with shampoos and other products etc.The bottles are sturdy and well made and won't leak and although not cheap I feel.its worth every penny. Very simple to use indeed and sprays very well and really smoothly. No nasty smells or effects and seems so far to be very effective for flea control
After attending a dog show with one of my dogs, I was horrified to discover that one of them had brought home fleas. I bought a spot on treatment from Amazon which thankfully seemed to cure the problem. However, he did still have signs of flea dust/droppings in his fur. I was therefore delighted to see this product on Amazon Vine. The shampoo is in a pump dispenser bottle which is wrapped in plastic to prevent leakage during transit. Once dispensed, it has a clear, thick gel-like consistency. The shampoo has a lovely citrus scent which is noticeable, but not overpowering. It only needs a small amount of shampoo to produce a good lather.Following washing and drying, my dog’s coat felt lovely and soft and silky with a pleasant fragrance. This lasted for several days. However, the best things is, I have inspected him regularly and there have been no signs of any more fleas. Whether this is down to the spot on treatment or the shampoo, I cannnot say for sure, but I do think this is ideal either as a preventive treatment or as a follow-up to other treatments.I will certainly continue to use this shampoo, as it will also be useful when we visit the Lake District in the Summer when ticks can be an issue. In conclusion, I am happy to say that this shampoo does work. In addition it smells lovely and fresh and leaves the coat silky smooth. I would certainly buy this again as it's so easy to use as part of your grooming routine.
Barkin & Meowson MedExpert Flea & Tick Shampoo with Citronella Formula 350ml / 11.83 fl.oz.We have 2 rescue dogs who hate bath times but was definitely well overdue for one so I ordered this expensive shampoo , this one is a flea and tick shampoo with a citronella formula, it has natural essential oils , ph balanced and reccomend by vets .So after chasing them around the house to bath them I finally got them in , it takes both my husband and I to do this , hubby has to make sure they don't jump out while I get down to bathing them ......I must say the shampoo smelled lovely and not much is required so should get a good few baths from this 350ml size bottle .This left their coat soft and shiny they smelled lovely .But I did also use the same brand conditioner , it was hypoallergenic intensive hydration conditioner .This is as described , I can see why its so expensive, definitely a premium shampoo for dogs .Can recommend.Great quality.
I’ve been using the Barkin & Meowson MedExpert Flea & Tick Shampoo (350ml) as part of my dog’s regular grooming routine, and it’s been an excellent addition. The veterinary dermatologist recommended formula gives me confidence in its safety and effectiveness. It’s designed to cleanse, repel, and wash out fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes, all without feeling harsh on the coat or skin. The shampoo lathers well and rinses out easily, leaving the coat clean, soft, and refreshed. The citronella and geranium essential oils provide a natural, pleasant scent, not overpowering, but enough to give that fresh, clean finish while helping to deter pests. I also appreciate the addition of Vitamin B5 and glycerine, which help keep the skin hydrated and conditioned after washing, preventing dryness that some flea shampoos can cause. It’s also worth noting that the formula is odour neutralising, pH balanced, and free from SLS and parabens, making it suitable for regular use, even on dogs with more sensitive skin.Overall, this is an effective, gentle, and well-balanced flea and tick shampoo that leaves your dog’s coat clean, fresh, and naturally protected. It’s ideal for routine grooming, especially during flea season.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)✅ I hope you found my review helpful. Thank you!
It did deter the ticks as our dog only had a couple which dropped off very quickly
Very good

My mother-in-law used this shampoo for her dogs, and she was very satisfied with it. It helps clean the coat well and is useful for managing fleas and ticks. The citronella formula has a fresh, natural smell that isn’t too strong, and it leaves the dogs’ fur feeling soft and clean after washing. It also rinses out easily, which makes bath time quicker and less stressful.Overall, it’s a good, practical shampoo for regular use if you want something that cleans well while helping with flea control. She would definitely buy it again.
I’ve been using the Barkin & Meowson MedExpert Flea & Tick Spray for Dogs on my pup for a few weeks now, and I’m genuinely impressed with how effective and easy-to-use it is.🐶 First Impressions & PackagingThe bottle arrives sturdy with a clear, easy-to-read label and instructions. The spray nozzle delivers a consistent mist — not too weak, not too harsh — which makes application quick and fuss-free.🌿 Formula & ScentThis spray has a mild, non-chemical smell that doesn’t offend pets or owners. It feels like a thoughtfully formulated product that’s pet-friendly rather than overly perfumed. My dog didn’t shy away or show any discomfort when it was applied.🛡️ EffectivenessSince we started using it regularly:• ✔️ Reduced flea irritation: We noticed far less scratching and rolling in the grass.• ✔️ Fewer ticks on walks: After walks in wooded areas, ticks simply weren’t clinging as much.• ✔️ Better coat condition: His fur looks clean and smoother — no greasy residue. It’s worth noting that while this spray works really well as a preventative and support spray, for heavy infestations you might still need vet-recommended treatment. That said, for routine outdoor walks and general flea/tick exposure, this pulls its weight.✨ Ease of UseJust spray on your dog’s coat (avoiding eyes/inner ears), brush it through, and go — no rinsing, no wait time. It’s perfect for awkward coats and larger dogs where spot-ons can be tricky.💡 Value for MoneyConsidering how frequently you can use it and the peace of mind it offers on daily walks, it’s good value — especially if you’re comparing to monthly spot-on treatments that can be pricier and messier.⚠️ Notes• Always do a patch test if your dog has sensitive skin.• In areas with heavy flea/tick seasons, consider pairing with other protective measures.✅ OverallA simple, effective, and pet-friendly flea & tick spray that makes outdoor adventures less itchy and more enjoyable. Easy application and gentle formula make it a great choice for weekly protection and support.
My dog got fleas after visiting the vet. This shampoo worked wonders. It got the buggers early and as soon as I used the shampoo on him, the adult fleas washed out in to the bathtub. Haven’t seen any new fleas, eggs or larvae a week on. The formula is great, doing dry out the fur and leaves a lovely citrus smell. The pump bottle makes it considerably easier to use over a standard bottle while fighting him in the tub.
A delightful fragrance both during use and for days after.Whilst this is probably more expensive than shampoos I have used before, I see exactly why it’s priced as it is - it’s made with good quality natural ingredients, has a lovely feel (very silky to touch), gives a good soapy lather, rinses out easily, and most impressive of all, is the shine and softness it gives to my dogs coat. It’s also effective at preventing fleas. The scent is not overpowering at all but my dog does go a bit insane after shower time! I’ve used citronella products before anti reacts the same way so it was no surprise. It’s gentle on his skin - no itching or scratching.Great value for money for such a high quality product. A little goes a long way so don’t be put off by the price.Barkin & Meowson looks and feels premium and their products would be great for gifting.Clear list of ingredients on the bottle for peace of mind.
Another awesome Barkin & Meowson product for my little chihuahua! I use this flea and tick spray before we go out for walks - just a quick spritz over her coat to help deter any creatures that might fancy latching on while she's sniffing about in the grass. It's a spray-on formula so dead easy to apply, and no rinsing needed - just spray, give it a quick massage through the fur, and you're good to go.The citronella and geranium essential oils give it natural repellent properties without harsh chemicals, which I like given my dog's sensitive skin. It smells quite pleasant too - that lemony citronella scent - and she doesn't seem bothered by it at all. It's designed to work alongside your regular flea treatments (like the spot-on pipettes), so think of it as extra protection rather than a replacement. The added vitamin B5 and glycerine are a nice touch for keeping her coat conditioned. I've been really impressed with the whole Barkin & Meowson MedExpert range - they clearly know what they're doing with pet skincare 🐾
Easy to use and smells fantastic
I saw this on Amazon and thought to try it for my dogs. They had recently picked up some fleas and we had run out of their normal shampoo. The bottle is smaller than I thought, but feels of a top quality and looks it too.The smell is a pleasant but not overpowering citrus. It makes the dogs smell fresh and quite nice actually. You only need a small amount of shampoo to get a great lather. A smaller amount than their regular shampoo! So although a smaller bottle, you don't use a lot of it at a time which is nice! After washing and drying, both my dogs fur seemed to feel actually very soft and lovely. And both don't scratch as much either which is a good sign. So no skin irritation that we can see and the fleas seem to have gone! For the price you pay, it's well worth it! So I would recommend it!
Barkin & Meowson is a great brand as we've used them for a few products on our dogs over the pas couple of moths and always find them very safe and effective and great quality. This is a great safe to use but effective flea shampoo which we used fore 6 weeks n ow with no issues and very happy with the results.Really nice and easy to use with no skin irritation and no nasty chemical smell either. Good value as a little goes a long way and very happy with it so would fully recommend trying and happily get again.
I have a long haired cat who gets messy after using the toilet every now and then, in which case I use this soap to clean her. It's effective at getting smells and stains out of her white fur. It doesn't seem to harm her skin, and she has quite sensitive skin so that's a plus. The bottle is huge and really lasts a while, if you're only using a little bit for spot cleaning and don't have to wash the animal comprehensively or regularly you'll be set for years. If you have to do a full shampoo often, of course it'll be used up faster. It's about as watery as your average hand soap or a bit thicker, so easy to apply to an animal or a sponge. I liked the guava and coconut scent, it's sweet and pleasant without being too artificial.
Our dog has never had an issue with fleas and only the rare tick, so it hasn't been super vital for those uses. But it is at least a good bonus if it helps keep them away.Mainly got it to try out as the smell sounded good and it does smell decent. Being made for your pets is probably better for them than usual human shampoos, so was also worth trying for that.So far it seems to work well, no noticeable irritation, and seems a good quality shampoo (and for the price it would have to be).Getting onto that, I think it is expensive, but it does seem to work well enough. Probably being a sort of gimmicky name and knowing pet owners are usually happy spending more on their pets, they bump the price up a bit. So while it's good it could be better value.Overall though, other than the price it seems to be good and works well. So if you can regularly afford it, or at least for the occasional use, it is worth having to keep your dog nice and clean (and hopefully pest free).
This spray is well packaged with a clean nozzle and cap. The scent is citronella which generally repels many types of insects and bugs naturally and smells very pleasant too.Noticed less instances of bites in areas where this had been sprayed - however unfortunately the cat gets aggressive if we try to spray this near her or areas he spends a lot of time in - so it's not universally liked in the household!
