Brightening Shampoo for Light Coat

I really like the Barkin & Meowson range, it just appears to suit my dog, his skin and coat.My dog is black and white, but it is the white part that I need to keep clean, in between regular dog grooming.With being a smaller sized dog, his little legs are nearer the ground, and all of this wet weather causes havoc to his white fur. Incidentally, all four legs are white which is typical. Harder to keep clean.I ordered the Barkin & Meowson Brightening Shampoo for Light Coat. I very much like that their products are Vet recommended. I also really like that they are sulphate and paraben free.The ingredients include Argan Oil and Silk Protein.I have a little device that I pop shampoo inside, to target dirty areas after a dog walk.I have found that the shampoo lathers up well, and is easily rinsed off. My dog has very soft fur naturally, but I believe that the shampoo is a helpful aid, in maintaining my dogs health.

Presentation. The Barkin & Meowson Brightening Dog Shampoo was supplied in a plastic sealed wrapper and usefully has a pump cap.First Impressions. Pumping a small amount first to see what it was like, the shampoo is nice smelling – I think a fruit and vanilla combination. It is almost clear in terms of colour and is not too thick or runny so the texture is good and it spreads quite evenly without being sticky on the hands probably down to the Argan oils and silk in the product. The bottle is nicely made and feels solid enough but would allow you to squeeze if the cap failed to pump or to get the last drops of shampoo out when the pump could not do so, the branding looks nice too! Day To Day Use. We have two cocker spaniels, one is a brindle and the other a very light and shiny gold and it is the latter that we wanted this for as we have a decent shampoo for the darker coated dog – though I would like to try Barkin & Meowson’s darker coat shampoo too! The shampoo went on well, provided a good lather which I felt was just right, not too much soap which can be an issue to rinse away. It has decent dirt removal properties and left the coat feeling soft and smelling nice, looking shiny and whilst I didn’t notice any lightening it was a clean and pampered dog at the end of the bath time operation.Summing UpI do like this shampoo, it looks quite expensive and works very well with the dogs coat, not harsh but well cleaned and smelling the part and it does not need a lot of shampoo to bathe the dog. Think we will try the dark one too as it certainly works for this lighter coloured dog. Not the cheapest but good quality dog shampoo.

As Mum to two beautiful dogs, I always try to source the best products for their health and appearance.I have had products from this Company previously and found them to be excellent. This particular product is the Brightening Shampoo. It has added argan oil and wheat germ oil, which is something I look for to keep my dog’s glossy coat in tip top condition. Also worth noting is that this shampoo is pH balanced as well as being paraben and sulphate free.It arrives in a 350 mls pump dispenser, which unusually is easy to operate unlike some of those liquid soaps you can buy! When is dispensed it has a clear gel like appearance. The fragrance is very pleasant, and I am someone who reacts badly to certain fragrances. I’m not particularly good at describing what things smell like, but I could detect vanilla, and something slightly fruity. The dogs came for a sniff before I used it, and they seemed to approve.You use it just like a normal shampoo, and I found that it lathered very well, and created soft bubbles on the coat. With the gel being fairly thick, only a small amount is required to achieve good results, making it cost effective.Once dry, my dog’s coat looked and smelled amazing. It was soft and shiny, and the fragrance has lasted a couple of days.In conclusion, I am very happy with this product, and although I got this bottle free of charge, I would certainly buy this product again.

Wow what an amazing smell best smelling shampoo I have ever had my pooch smelt like he had been to the groomers after a lovely wash and blow dry using this shampoo,it's a great consistency and lathers really well I only need a small amount as he is just a little lad and rinses off pretty good as well no residues left over.He was so soft and shiny and smelt gorgeousFor just shy of £16 definitely worth it cheaper than a trip to the groomers and can get several washes

My girl has no complaints after I used this on her. It does have a delicate floral scent, more noticeable at first when it was in my hand before I rubbed it into her coat, but she was not bothered by it ( she loves baths/showers, so was not so fearful to notice any strong scent). It rubbed in and lathered up easily, but there were not lashings of lather, just enough to let you know it was spreading around. It took all the mud and dirt off her coat, although as she was so dirty, I did give her two lots of shampoo - the bath was filled with dirty foam after the first rinse off, so it proved the dirt was literally removed and going down the drain. After the second rinse foam was white. After I finished, she likes to sit under the shower letting water run over her, so I know it was rinsed out, but she had shown no sign of problems from the shampoo and hasn't since. Her coat dried soft and white. A really nice shampoo for white coated dogs

This wouldn’t look out of place in a high-end spa! The bottle and design is excellent and looks really smart. I tried it on my very ‘sludgey-looking’ sheepdog today and his coat is now beautifully soft and white. The shampoo lathers well and you don’t need a large amount. It has a slight scent to it but certainly nothing overpowering - it leaves the dog smelling clean but not perfumed, which he is happy about. It is a more expensive shampoo than I would normally buy, and the bottle is a smaller size than I’d normally be looking for too, but if you have a smaller dog that doesn’t need very regular baths this would last a good while.

As the owner of 2 dogs who like to get muddier than the puddles that they play in, I wanted to try a shampoo that was specific to each of their coats. Our spaniel has a mid length coat with gold and white.This brightening shampoo is designed for light coated dogs and is noted to have silk protein and argan oil. It's a smart looking pump dispenser bottle so it's easy to use when trying to hold a shower head and keep a dog still 😂I noticed a soft smell of vanilla when using it. It wasn't overpowering just nice enough to notice that and not a chemical shampoo perfume scent. The shampoo itself is clear in colour and a nice consistency - not so runny that it falls off your hand in the transfer from bottle to the dog and not to thick that you have to work from a single point on their coat.8 pumps lathered up nicely and felt nice going onto the dogs coat. It felt like applying a conditioner at some points. Rinsing was just as easy which I loved. There's nothing worse than a shampoo that takes forever to rinse out especially when your dog has had enough.The quality of this dog shampoo is good, I can say that when his coat was dry it did have a beautiful sheen to it. I suppose it boosted the colour too as it looked brighter than before although this could be down to having had the dirt washed off of him 😂. If you were to compare the effects like you do a human shampoo, you would think a nice gloss mask had been used.I've used the shampoo twice now on the pooch and both times have shown great results, no signs of dryness or irritation either and a soft coat very evident.With the amount of product needed each time, the size of the bottle and the result, this shampoo is great value for money and is going to last us a while. Unless he decides to roll in the sodden mud pit that is the goal area of the parks football pitch - again.

I got this for our litttle Morkie who is pure white. I’d just finished a bottle of a gentle shampoo for white dogs which was effective without being harsh but had quite a thin texture and also didn’t have much of a smell, although this was one of the reasons for using it. I love Barkin and Meowson products, I’ve tried quite a few recently and have been pleased with all of them. Firstly, this shampoo is quite thick and you only need a very small amount, well for a small dog anyway! It lathers up beautifully and the smell - gorgeous! This worried me a bit as she has rather sensitive skin but I’m pleased to say she’s suffered no ill effects at all. After her blow dry her coat was soft and beautifully smooth and the lovely smell lasted for several days. I’d definitely recommend it and despite the price being at the higher end of the market, I think it’s value for money because of the quality.

I was looking for a shampoo that would freshen up a light-coloured coat without being harsh or overly perfumed.This one lathers nicely and rinses out easily, which makes bath time quicker and less stressful all round.The scent is pleasant and mild, not overpowering, and it doesn’t linger in an artificial way.After drying, the coat looked clean and felt soft rather than stripped or rough.It seemed to help lift everyday dirt without needing loads of product.The consistency is good too – not watery, so it’s easy to work through the coat.Build quality of the bottle is decent and it’s easy to grip with wet hands.That said, I wouldn’t say it performs miracles if a coat is very muddy or stained.It’s better suited to regular washing rather than heavy-duty clean-ups.For the size, I think it’s reasonably priced and a little goes a long way.If anything, a pump dispenser would make it even easier to use.Overall, it’s a solid, well-made shampoo that does its job gently and reliably.

My chihuahua has really dry, sensitive skin and tends to get itchy and irritated by a lot of grooming products - so finding something that doesn't set her off is always a win. This shampoo has been gentle on her and hasn't caused any of the usual scratching or discomfort she gets with other brands.The scent is lovely but not overpowering, which is important for dogs with sensitive noses. She doesn't seem bothered by it at all. Her coat comes out soft and looking brighter after a wash - the keratin and oils in it seem to be doing their job without irritating her skin.If you've got a light-coated dog with sensitive or dry skin, this is worth a try. Been really happy with how she's reacted to it 🐕

Very impressed with the quality of this shampoo and the spout bottle is lovely, so well designed and decorated. The smell is very faint which helps because remembering that dogs can smell things we can't they do not like to be overwhelmed by aromas. Not too many bubbles when rubbing in and rinses out very well. East to get the right amount from the spout and good for many baths as you don't need much.

This is fantastic, it smells lovely and the fur not only brightens and shines but it feels so soft and fluffy to touch after washing. My dog is white and tan and the white i always struggle keeping white because he just loves mud. This works without having to spend hpurs scrubbing, it works fast, it works with very little shampoo, and it works well.I would recommend this if you have a mucky pooch, the scent lats after washing unlike a lot of others.

Wonderfully aromatic yet gentle shampoo for my Springer's sensitive skin. Goes along way too which is great and gets rid of fox poo smell, which I was pleasantly surprised by.

I love xxx skin and hair products for our dogs as they are brilliant quality and safe and effective. Tis is a lovely shampoo for light coats which is quick and easy to sue and very effective and rinses fairly easily too once you are done. Greta for home washes in-between groomer visits and no issues with skin irritation or any nasty chemical like smell like similar ones sometimes have. Would happily get again so definitely recommend trying.

My dog has really temperamental skin, so applying any new shampoo is a bit of a gamble. This shampoo is more expensive than my own, but after testing I can report it's a reliable shampoo and you're getting good quality for the price.It's easy to wash with, and while I had to mix it into warm water and then put it in a silicone pet brush (I need one hand free at all times to keep him from escaping), it's not a stupid thick shampoo and has an easy pump bottle so applying it normally isn't too difficult. It foams well and I didn't have to use a ton to properly cover him in it, which is nice.It smells pretty inoffensive. It's a very neutral scent that's not going to bother anybody, and while nobody likes the smell of wet dog, once he was completely dry he smelled pretty good.It didn't magically make his coat shimmer like spun gold, but it has left his fur soft and silky and clean. He's a good boy, but he is pretty gross by default, so this is actually a huge improvement for him.It's safe, it cleans really well, and leaves a healthy shine and soft, pettable fur. It's also average priced for dog shampoo, so I have zero complaints here. It's good stuff!

We've used this and the 2-in-1 stuff. Genuinely fantastic for dogs. We've been using Barkin & Meowson a lot recently, after getting a few bottles from Amazon, and we've used them on about 5 pups (ours and friends). They leave the dogs smelling great and looking fantastic! Plus, we used this on a friend's dog notorious for her allergies and it didn't flare anything up! (obviously check the ingredients first if your dog has allergies and take extreme care. Dog/cats health comes first.)One thing about the 'brightening for light coat' - we haven't really seen that? Cleaning a dog tends to make their coat look brighter, so not sure if that's just a marketing gimmick. Either way, still a great shampoo with a lovely scent.Overall, love this stuff, will gladly get it again.

Big fan of this brand, they make excellent, high quality dog friendly products, which have helped my dogs over the last 6 months to stop scratching itchy skin, and to smell gorgeous.I have to say that aside from the shampoo for fleas and ticks, every one of their products could be in a high end human salon based on smell alone, but this particular shampoo, is by far my absolute favourite!!It is thick, luxurious and standard high quality shampoo I have come to expect, but the smell is exquisite. My girls have the most gorgeous aroma that lasts for ages. I have to say that their fur/hair looks nicer being washed in this shampoo than when they are professionally groomed (and I have an excellent dog groomer for my girls).I cannot recommend this highly enough, I have a white/cream cavachon and her coat is glossy, shiny and soft after this shampoo...is it worth the money?? ABSOLUTELY!! It is at the high end of the price I would pay, but in this case you absolutely get what you pay for...gorgeous!

Our cat is about 60% white and the rest patchy light grey. He goes out everyday and only stays in the house at night. As a result his fur does get dirty and darker from the outdoors.I have used this shampoo once so far as it cleans the coat, conditions it and brightens. The cats fur has gone from a dirty white to a much brighter white, like it use to be when he was a kitten. His fur feels soft and smooth.The bottle is well presented and you get plenty of lather out of each portion.Priced at £15.95 currently.

Our girl can be a little bit sensitive, but there is no issues with the shampoo at all. It comes with a pump dispenser and is 350 mL in volume. A little does seem to go a long way so I anticipate this lasting for something. It lathers up really well leaving her coat nice and clean and soft. There is little of any fragrance which quite appeals to me especially with our girl being a little bit sensitive when it comes to her skin. Good quality ingredients and a product that works well at a reasonable price.

One nice clean dog amd a less stressed dog owner as for once he didn't seem.to.mind his bathtime !!!Easily lathered up and rinsed well too. Once dry he was soft and shiny and off showing off to anyone he could find. Loved it
