I have three cats. I picked up the Barkin & Meowson Eye Micellar Water to help keep their eye area clean, and they have not objected to it. The formula is very gentle and mild. It doesn’t have any fragrance and it hasn’t caused any redness or irritation around my cats’ eyes. The micellar water works well for loosening and removing dried discharge and everyday buildup without needing to rub the area too much. Using it is simple—just a few drops on a cotton pad and gently wipe around the eyes. The liquid feels lightweight and non greasy, and it dries quickly. My cats don’t try to pull away, which tells me it’s comfortable and not stinging. I like that it contains Vitamin B5, which helps keep the skin around the eyes from getting dry or irritated with regular use. It comes in a spray bottle that makes it easy to apply to cotton. The bottle size is decent for daily or regular use, and a little goes a long way. Overall, this is a gentle, effective eye area cleansing solution for pets. It does what it’s supposed to without harsh ingredients, and it’s easy to incorporate into a regular grooming routine.I took a few pictures to show you what I received: 1- front label2- back label3- bottle width w ruler4- bottle height w ruler. This is a safe, mild eye micellar water that helps keep the eye area clean and comfortable for pets. The price feels reasonable for a vet recommended, fragrance free formula, and it’s a good choice for routine eye care. Amazon offers their no hassle return/refund/replace guarantee with this product and it ships free for Prime members. For the gentle formula, ease of use, and pet friendly ingredients, I’m giving this pet eye area cleaner five stars.
Gentle and mild formula to help remove any impurities around your dog’s eyes helps. Keep them clean without irritating. Just apply a few drops onto a cotton pad and wipe gently easy to use. Directions are clear cut excellent quality great value highly recommend.
No smell to this which is good for something you're using near your dogs' face. I've been applying it to a cotton pad and wiping around the eye area to clean up any gunk - works well enough, gets the job done without much fuss.My dogs aren't exactly fans of having their eyes cleaned, but that's probably more about the process than the product itself. They tolerate it and it clears things up nicely. Really nice product.
Suitable for both dogs and cats, so this is good for me, however, I did order this to mainly use on my dog.He does tend to gunk around his eyes, and sometimes they weep a bit.I follow the instructions on the bottle, spraying on a cotton wool pad, and wipe away the gunk, being mindful to not touch the eye at all.My dog is happy for me to do this.I feel happy that this is Vet recommended, and fragrance and paraben free.I think the name of the brand, and the label are great. It looks regal and classy.
Lovely product for keeping my cream dogs face tear stain free.Gentle and easy to use.Easy to use spray bottle and a good quality spray and bottle overall.
I am a great fan of Barkin & Meowson & always keen to trial their products. As my little Chocolate Tonkinese has to have her eyes cleaned daily, I was looking for a reputable brand for optimum optical care. This Micellar Eye Water is mild & gentle, with Vitamin B5 to support gentle cleansing without irritation & is Veterinary & Dermatologist Recommended. Fragrance & Paraben free, it certainly ranks as a top quality product at a good value price. One small issue with my order & the reason I have dropped one star: this bottle is missing its transparent top & by the very nature of what it’s intended for (eye care) - this is not acceptable, as it’s important to maintain a high level of hygiene with eye care. Overall though, happy to recommend this eye water, thank you.
Quite a small bottle and the main ingredient is water. However you only need to damped a cotton pad with the liquid to wipe your pets eyes so it’s good to have something safe to use and should last quite a while.
Both of my cats hate it, but it works! Nicely removes stains and dirt from around their eyes
I love Barkin & Meowson products - they’re good quality and aren’t full of chemicals. I have a Chorkie who has brownish/reddish fur so although it doesn’t look as though he has tear stains, the fur around his eyes does need to be cleansed as there is a bit of staining. He’s not the best at any form of grooming but he just about tolerates this. I spray the solution on a cotton wool pad - he seems to automatically lose his eyes when I do it but I trust that even if he didn’t, there’s nothing in the water that could harm him. It’s a bit expensive but you need such a small amount that it will last for ages and I think it’s worth paying a little bit extra for a safe, good quality product.
I am a massive fangirl of all things Barkin and Meowson, the products are vet approved, well made, use quality ingredients and always do a great job. This micellar water is no different. Usually their products smell amazing, but quite rightly for a product being used in a sensitive area like around the eyes, this is unfragranced. My dogs both have gunky eyes, and my shih tzu gets tear stains. This is a good spray which I applied to a cotton wool pad and rubbed around her eyes, it did remove all the tear stains, but my girls eyes get so much gunk, that just wiping around her eye created another 'eye snot'. I did wipe it away but needed a different, clean, unsprayed, pad as it was right in the corner of her eye and I didn't want to risk this going in her eye, as per the instructions. I am hoping I am not just making her eyes more snotty! The reason i have removed a star is that my dog absolutely hates this, she is a bit afraid of the spray, so i need to spray the pad out of her sight, an option to get this with a different top where you could drop the water onto the pad would be nice. She just really hates me wiping around her eyes, I have been doing this for years with just water, or my fingers, and she tolerates that, but for some reason she tries to avoid me using this product on the tissue or pad, not sure why - this is the first time she has reacted like this to a barkin and meowson product.Overall though it does work really well, my other dog tolerates it, but her eyes are a bit less gunky. She has cream fur so the tear stains are a big issue if I don't keep on top of them, this product for the price seems a bit pricey for me, and whilst it is from an excellent brand I don't see this as much great value as I do with their other products, given how often I would need to use it.
High quality micellar water, effective at getting the eyes clean from gunk. It is basically very pure water, so the price is a bit high. But it works.
We have been using this on our girl to wipe away debris and other stuff that has accumulated around her eyes. It is easy to apply using a cotton pad and there is no fragrance on it and it does seem to be very gentle. She lets us apply the surround the area of the eye without any discomfort or irritation. It seems to be doing a good job, not just clearing away debris but also stopping at accumulating in the first place. I like this brand and it is a cruelty free product with care and attention taken to the ingredients.
No clear lid came on the bottle which I found strange, however it hadn't been used, must have gotten lost in the warehouse perhaps. My dog has dry eye and his eyes need cleaned a few times a day. Normally I use luke warm water on a cotton pad to clean them, so I thought I would give this a try to see if it is any better. So far it works just the same, though a few sprays on a cotton pad is not enough for crustier areas. For once a day use of a general eye wipe, this would be fine. Unfortunately for me, price wise it would be too expensive to use in the long term. It lifted the eye gunk ok, but no tear stains to test it on given his coat colour, so I cannot comment on how well it works for that.
My dog has a lot of sleep appearing every day from her eyes, nearly all her life ( she is 10 now) and the Vet assured me not an infection, just wipe it with some wipes she recommended, over the years, various brands. My girl was never happy with me using them, so I was just using cooled boiled water.Seeing this and having the chance to review it was one I had to take once I read up on what Micellar Water is. I don't use anything in her eyes just below, so felt this was safe to try. I sprayed some on a cotton pad and wiped under each eye ( using a separate pad for each eye). For the first time, my girl didn't try and turn her head away as I did it and has sat there quite happily each time I have used it since. I don't soak the pad; use 3 sprays on each cotton pad and so far, no problems, my girl is not trying to rub or scratch her face or eye or showing any other symptoms that it might cause; all is well. So much easier just spraying this on the pad, no having to boil water and leave it to cool before I can clean her. So the bottle should last quite a while for the price at the time of writing this review, £11.95, in my opinion, it is good value
Dealing with crusty eyes is just part of life with my Border Terrier who loves to explore! I thought that I'd try out B&M's eye micellar water, having used other products before. B&M's eye micellar water sits in the same price bracket as some of the more expensive brands, but it's all about finding what your dog will tolerate, right?Having used it recently. my boy tolerates it well with no signs of irritation! It's seems effective at cleaning away the usual eye gunk, only struggling with the really tough stuff. It's a lovely product that does the job well. If it's within your budget and you're looking for a gentle option, I'd recommend giving it a go!
