Stress Relief Spray

This does have a calming effect on my sausage dog but it does require constant use for him to get used to. I have also changed my routine when leaving the house so I am not adding stress to the situation.A few weeks after use he is so much calmer when I go out and I can see that it’s working.It’s in a well designed bottle and its long lasting and easy to spray.

I wanted to order this spray so I could try and see if it helps one of our family dogs in particular who is highly stressed and it gets worse this time of year with random fireworks going off without warning not just on those nights like expected ie guy Fawkes and New Year’s Eve. The bottle isn’t overly large containing only one hundred and fifty millilitres, but the pump spray allows me to choose how many sprays I add to their bed for when they’re laying in it but what I did do which I’ve tried doing with previous products is my dogs wear bandanas anyway so I also sprayed it onto their scarf and then popped it over their head so every time he moved the scent would waft around his nasal areas. The scent is ok pleasant enough and I like that it’s also made with natural ingredient. It’s too early to tell if it’s working but I will be using it daily especially on his bandana to hope it helps even in a small way. At the time of ordering the cost was £12.95 which is value for money in my personal opinion.

Stress relief spray.This is a calming spray for bedding/ bandanas/ jumpers /beds etc.It’s a pleasant smell, not particularly strong to my nose, but as the dogs have a much better sense of smell they’ll find it stronger.It seems to take the edge off their stress, I prefer it to the plug ins as it’s easy to get it exactly where the dogs are rather than all over the house.It’s easy to use, needs just a few sprays so lasts and is priced reasonably .As an alternative use it is a dog friendly way to freshen up furniture/ beds/ bedding too.

This is a good calming spray for doggies but as we know one dog does not react the same as another . We have a really highly anxious German shepherd who has been anxious since she was born .& We have tried everything ..so lm going to give an honest review ..when we sprayed the bedding & pillows with the spray ..she actually couldn't stop sniffing the bedding & pillows.but after exploring this new smell she did quieten down & was less anxious ..she kept to the sprayed pillows & slept nicely ..this is not a one trick pony ..but we have seen a quiet improvement. .so if it relaxed our doggie for a while then the future looks good .. so with thanx to this stress relief spray. We can recommend this product ...a little spray goes a long way ..so l would say.its good value .it doesn't ommit a doggie smell at all ..just a quiet non offensive smell ..Thankyou

I’ve just recently discovered the Barkin & Meowson range, and I am so pleased that I have.Our dog on certain occasions suffers from a bit of anxiety, and is reactive in certain situations too. He does suffer from separation anxiety, although it is rare he is left home alone. I would like to get him in a comfortable place to stay home alone, because there are sometimes reasons to do so.I have been using the Barkin & Meowson stress relief spray, alongside another couple of methods.What I have done is spray throws, cushions, and his bedding. I have also sprayed a flannel for when out of the house.I have noticed that he is more settled on an evening, calmer, he normally wants to play ball in the garden at every opportunity, so that is a different pattern.I like that it is a Veterinary Dermatologist Recommended Product, and that it is paraben free.I feel happy using the Barkin & Meowson products.I will be continuing to use the spray.

I got this due to the time of year, fireworks going off daily and although my girl is not badly stressed with the noise, she does work herself up with barking at them every time one goes off.I have sprayed it on her bed, the couch, my bed, cushions, everywhere she goes to lie and slowly she calms down, not all at once. Slowly, she barks less and less at the noise, although she still barks if there has been a gap between bangs. Instead of dashing from door to windows and back, she will at times stand up, bark, but then go and lie down again or snuggle again. She does doze. So even though yes, she can hear the bangs and barks at the first one, she is not working herself over them. It smells nice and it works on me; I do feel more relaxed. I also sprayed it before our window cleaner came today, as she again works herself out, barking at him and doing all her dashing from window to window as he cleans them. She gave him a bark to let him know he was there, but not in the excited way she usually does - I did not use as much, just lightly sprayed the couch and her bed in the living room. Vet had offered medication with my girl getting older, so even getting excited, not so good for her now, but I thought I would try this before medication and am glad I did. Will be ensuring I always have this Stress Relief Spray in, from now on, ready to use.

Our rescue dog gets very agitated when there are fireworks or when he hears a fox in our garden. During the firework season, which seems to last at least three months now, he spends most of his time curled up under our coffee table and won't come out until the fireworks stop. So, when I saw this product, I was interested to give it a try.The spray arrives in a high-end looking bottle, and a lot of thought has gone into this product and the specific needs of our pets. I'm looking for a gentle product with no nasty or artificial ingredients that will irritate my dog's skin, and this hypoallergenic spray appears to tick all those boxes! The key ingredient is valerian root extract, which provides natural calming properties, and I'm pleased it contains no artificial nasties.It is easy to use. Just shake the bottle well before use and spray it onto your pet's bed or onto a bandana or leash that you can then loosely wrap around the neck area. The mist is very fine, and the smell is very subtle. We sprayed a little onto our dog's bed and all the places he likes to snuggle (sofa, stairs, my chair etc.)The first night we used it he went to his usual spot on the sofa, sniffed a little and even though there were fireworks was happy to stay there. I also noticed that he slept better and didn't wake up in the night every time I got up to the bathroom, so we all had a better night's sleep. We tried again the next night, and the results were the same. The calming effects seemed to last throughout the evening, and we've found we need to reapply before each potentially stressful event.At £12.95 for a 150ml bottle it is quite expensive, but a little goes a long way so it should last quite a while.Overall, I would recommend this to anyone with an anxious pet. While it's not a miracle cure, it has genuinely helped our rescue dog feel more relaxed and comfortable in his home, which has made a real difference to our household. Worth trying if you have a nervous pet.

Our 4 month old pup is constantly playing and getting dirty, which we love. he is also itchy from the cold of the winter. this is such a wonderful gentle product to have on hand as we are giving baths every week and wanted a product that wouldn't dry out his skin/fur too much. Highly reccommend!

I really wanted this to work as we were entering firework season as you always get bangs just before Hallowe'en, then the weekend of Hallowe'en, guy fawkes night and finally the weekend after. I know valerian works really well when I have used it to relax while having a bath or in a tea, so on humans it works but I had never tried it with my pooch before. I usually use pet remedy spray but we had run out of that and was getting desperate, so I requested this for review.Now you would think if this can calm human it would do with a dog being as they have ultra sensitive noses. I thought ut was a nice scent and found it soothing but it had little or no effect on my dog. It as like spraying a room spray for humans and not for dogs. So I personally think, not for firework season but more for any milder times panic

I was quite sceptical about this product, although every Barkin & Meowson product that I have tried so far has been excellent.My dog is petrified of fireworks, so I will try anything to see if it helps him. He shakes non stop and tries to hide when he hears them - so this time of year, and then New Year, are an absolute nightmare. We also have a wedding venue close by, who seem to have been offering a special on firework displays of late. It's just not been a good time for our little boy.This is a smaller bottle at 150ml. But you don't need to use a lot. I sprayed it on my dogs favourite blanket and where he lays (a couple of sprays). When he comes for a cuddle as the fireworks get really loud, I wrap the blanket around him and it appears to have helped settle him.My dog also gets separation anxiety, so I'll be trying this spray out on the rare occasions that he does have to be alone.The scent isn't overly strong but I can definitely smell something herbal. We have reapplied at the beginning of every evening and although my dog isn't instantly the calmest pup on the planet and he still has the odd growl, it does seem to help and he is sleeping away happily at my side with his little blanket as I type this review. For that reason, I have to recommend it. As you don't need to use a lot, £12.95 seems a fair price too.

I sprayed this on my cat’s blanket and inside her carrier before a vet visit, and she was noticeably more relaxed on the car journey.It’s paraben-free, which I look for, and the formula includes 1% valerian extract.Her groomer uses the same spray and she settles well there too, happy to be handled.Scent is mild and doesn’t linger on the fabric, and the bottle gives a fine, even mist.I’ll keep a bottle for carrier days and grooming appointments because it clearly takes the edge off for her.

I have a dog that is very anxious, poodle X. In all my years I've never had such a nervous dog, and even the other dog that grew up with him is chill as a cucumber on ice.So we've had to have a few things to keep him calm as now at 8 years old he has started attacking the other pets in the household when he gets anxious.This has valerian as the main ingredient and is the same main ingredient to a similar product from another brand. This one is valerian root extract whereas the other one is oil, this one has alcohol, whereas the other is water based.Now I have a sensitivity to the smell and taste of alcohol, and I imagine if I do, a dog will be too. And I must say I tested it on some cardboard and had a deep whiff right after and wow that was like inhaling alcohol hand sanitizer, so I'd say give it a few seconds for the alcohol to dissipate because it is strong, however after a few seconds the strong scent was gone and at least on the cardboard I could barely smell anything.Due to the ingredients do be mindful that it might not be safe for other species other than cats and dogs so always check.The bottle is a nice size and should last a while if used sparingly in the more regular spots, and the spray has a lovely mist that spreads well.My dog is super anxious and has started medication so it is hard to tell if it's working or not, we haven't had any attacks lately, but I can't say if it's this or a combination of both. Bare in mind this is a dog that despite heavily sedated was trying to fight the veterinary nurses when they tried to give him a nail cut, so it takes a lot to calm him down.So it seems like a good product, it looks good, had a good quantity and despite the initial strong alcohol if you get real close to a patch to sniff it, the smell quickly dissipates.I can't really fault it to be fair, but I also don't know much about these.Just note if you want something to rub or spray directly on your pet this isn't it.
